4. Haku

From 'Superfly' Jimmy Snuka to Roman Reigns, the Polynesian islands of Tonga and Samoa have been incredibly well-represented in professional wrestling throughout the sport’s existence.

Polynesian wrestlers have played countless gimmicks over the years, and while many have tried to portray the “Pacific Islands savage” character (with Umaga being the most recent example), nobody pulled it off like Haku.

Haku was an animal. With his hard-hitting fighting style, intimidating look, and refusal to speak English, he quickly became one of the most ferocious competitors in all of wrestling. It didn’t matter that he was never particularly dominant throughout his WWE career: Haku carried a unique aura and presence that made you believe his headbutts, kicks, and chops were the most painful strikes in the world.

His off-screen notoriety no doubt helped in this regard. Frequently referred to as “the toughest man to ever step foot in the ring", Haku’s colleagues were legitimately terrified of crossing him, and rightly so. From working overly stiff to biting a man’s nose off in a bar fight, Haku’s background is peppered with legendary tales of infamy, making him a genuine badas* and the most feared man in the business.
