10 Best Heels In WWE Today
2. The Miz
The Miz's 12-year WWE career has been a series of ups and downs. Though he initially wasn't taken seriously by fans or coworkers, he steadily improved until scoring a well-deserved WWE World Championship win in 2010. Unfortunately, he was booked so poorly during his reign that he spent the next several years sliding down the card.
The Miz's case wasn't helped by the fact that, following his fall from the main event, WWE began to place more emphasis on world-class workers. Men like CM Punk and Daniel Bryan reached the top of the card, and former independent and international stars like Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Cesaro, Finn Balor, and Sami Zayn hit the scene. Despite being a smart, solid worker, The Miz wasn't seen as on the same level as those men.
So what did the former WWE World Champion do? He embraced it. The cowardly heel who didn't want to be hit in the face still retained that aspect of his persona, but he also found the exact right way to push his more athletic opponents' buttons. Men like Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, and even Bryan have all run afoul of The Miz, ending up angry and frustrated when it was all said and done... just like their fans.
