10 Best Heels Of WWE's PG Era
7. R-Truth (2011)
Thinking of R-Truth as a main event star in today's WWE is unfortunately laughable. The fun loving rapper has been cast as a kooky, crowd pleasing under-card talent for the majority of the last decade.
In 2011, Truth was pushed as a serious threat to John Cena's WWE Championship. The crux of his villainous turn was the belief that there was a conspiracy in WWE to keep Cena on top. Truth attacked his former partner John Morrison in April and turned his attention to other fan favourites.
Wild, deranged promos perverted by schizophrenia and pent up resentment fuelled the flames of Truth's push and led him to the main event of Capitol Punishment in 2011. Though he was unsuccessful in his pursuit of the WWE Championship, Truth stayed around the main event scene and took part in the marquee match of that year's Survivor Series.
What made Truth's turn so impactful was the sheer unpredictability. Add to that the conviction Truth showed and WWE had the makings of a new star.
Unfortunately a Wellness Violation killed any momentum Truth had at the time. WWE had him return as a babyface, believing him to be more marketable and having faith in "Little Jimmy" merchandise. History speaks for itself.
