10 Best Irish Wrestlers Ever

5. Skull Murphy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpgOf5jaqKc This one€™s a bit of a cheat. While not actually Irish, Skull Murphy was sometimes billed as living in the land of saints and scholars. Why a man inflicted with a disease preventing him from growing hair resembled an Irish man is a question for the bookers. A 3 time IWA World Heavyweight champion, Murphy is most well known for his partnership with Brute Bernard. The tag team were hugely successful, holding titles in three separate organisations including the WWWF. Unfortunately the talented brawler€™s body was found by his wife after an apparent overdose of sleeping pills at the age of 39. Despite dying so young, Murphy made his mark in professional wrestling and deserves a place as an honorary Irishman.

As a pretty nerdy guy, I've loved film and television since I was a wee lad. Growing up in Ireland, The Den was the show to watch with it playing Batman The Animated Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation and everything in between. I have an MA in Radio and Television Production and have written for various sites, hope you enjoy my articles/lists for What Culture!
