The Patriarch of the legendary Guerrero family, Gory Guerreros left one of the most profound legacies in professional wrestling. He was one of the few Lucha Libre wrestlers who didnt wear a mask, yet still had a very successful career. Trained by Diablo Velasco, Guerrero was a quick learner and had a strong physique, something which he mustve definitely instilled in his children. Guerrero would go on to have truly outstanding matches against a wide variety of opponents, including a 1 hour and 50 minute against Bobby Bonales, and an NWA World Heavyweight Championship match against Lou Thesz. Furthermore, Guerreros matches with Cavernario Galindo throughout the late 1940s and early 1950s were some of the bloodiest battles in Lucha Libre history, and Guerrero was quite possibly the first wrestler to introduce have serious bloodbaths in the sports history. Gory would keep wrestling sparingly until the early 1980s, before passing away in 1990. He left behind a tremendous legacy, including his innovation of the La de a caballo (the Horse-Mounting Choke, better known as the Camel Clutch) and the Gory Special, and he made the tough technician approach of his more popular with subsequent generations of Mexican wrestlers. Guerreros name will definitely never be forgotten in pro wrestling. His son Eddie would become one of the best wrestlers the world had ever seen, and along with Eddies nephew Chavo Guerrero Jr., they would become one of WWEs most popular tag teams. None of that wouldve ever happened if it wasnt for Gorys incredible skill and impact on the world of professional wrestling in Mexico.
