Heading into their fatal 4-way match at NXT TakeOver: Rival, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Charlotte had established themselves as the absolute top of the women's division in NXT. After winning the title at the first NXT: TakeOver event, Charlotte began a 258 day reign as champion, successfully defending her title against everybody in the women's division.

The match itself was a perfectly executed fatal 4 way match. In modern WWE multi person matches, the action usually revolves around one of the participants taking a transitional move and spending five minutes laid out, allowing the action to remain one on one for most of the match. This match bucked that trend in a way that few multi-person matches have managed to pull off since.

Charlotte was already established as the top dog of the division, but this match really allowed Becky, Sasha, and Bayley to shine, and prove that they could hang with Charlotte. After seemingly a dozen near falls and broken up submissions, Sasha finally managed to lock in the Banks Statement to an already worn down Charlotte in the middle of the ring. When it became clear that Charlotte was totally out of it, Sasha rolled her up in a crucifix pin and won the NXT Women's championship for the first time.

As of now this was the only time that the four architects of the Women's Revolution have squared off with each other in the same match, but I'm willing to bet it won't be the last time.
