Bobby Lashley joined WWE with the intention of being the company's new Brock Lesnar, so it's appropriate he'd follow "The Beast Incarnate" in pursuing an MMA career.

After a prolific amateur wrestling career, Lashley signed for WWE in 2005, winning his first title by defeating JBL for the United States Championship. When WWE relaunched the ECW brand a year later, Lashley was assigned as top baby-face, a run which included a feud with Mr. McMahon and representing Donald Trump in he and McMahon’s "Battle of the Billionaires" at WrestleMania 23

After being released by the company in 2008, Lashley turned his attention to MMA, amassing a 4-0 record in smaller promotions before tenures with Strikeforce and Bellator. Despite a 14-2 record, Lashley received criticism for his poor quality of competition, with his best wins coming against Pride journeyman James Thompson and 0-3 UFC veteran Wes Sims.

While still competing for Bellator, Lashley restarted his pro-wrestling career with Impact Wrestling. Adapting a more controlled style compared to his WWE days, Lashley quickly became one of the company's biggest highlights, claiming four World Championships as well as reigns as X-Division and King of the Mountain champion. Lashley would spend four years with Impact before returning to WWE in 2018, where he's remained since.
