WWE Feels "Handcuffed", Pushed Towards Censorship By Netflix (WWE News)

WrestleVotes on Fightful Select is reporting that "there are those within WWE's post-production department who feel 'handcuffed' at times by the restrictions Netflix has put in place, particularly following the recent censorship on Monday Night Raw".

Most recently, the streaming giant blurred out Jey Uso's face during a beatdown segment involving other Bloodline members and Royce Keys new group. That had followed on from censorship blocking out blood on Bron Breakker, a scuffle between Cody Rhodes and Gunther, and even Brock Lesnar's t-shirt on one occasion.

It's been a hot talking point amongst fans, and it's the same story behind the scenes at WWE. WrestleVotes/Fightful noted that the company was well aware of restrictions and a code of conduct that Netflix would put in place, but "there were some internally who didn't expect things to be this intensive".

Following Monday's flagship, Triple H decided to post an unedited version of the Bloodline/Keys angle in question on social media. That was described as "a unanimous decision internally", because "some felt it was necessary to the angle and needed to be seen as originally intended and designed".

However, another WWE source talking to Fightful queried whether or not "the angle should have been reserved for a week until Raw was live and airing in real time".

Triple H referred to the attack in his post as "destructive" and "dangerous". He clearly wanted the scene to play out without that pesky blurring all over Jey's face. Stay tuned for more on all of this as it develops, because that's probably not the last time Netflix censors WWE.
