10 Best Modern WWE Rivalries
8. Sasha Banks Vs. Bayley
Were it not for how the main roster handled this feud, it would be a lot closer to the number one spot. Unfortunately, the diluted hi-jinks of the talented performers squabbling and lacking drive has somewhat dampened the heights of this dynamic. However, it is still undeniable that their series of matches are some of the best pure wrestling we have seen in the last decade, male or female.
The women's revolution in WWE felt somewhat contrived. After protests from fans, WWE tried to legitimise their division with a "Divas Revolution" which didn't change anything. Whilst all of this faux revolution was going on, Bayley and Sasha were tearing it up down in NXT.
This rivalry was so important because it proved why women's wrestling should be treated with legitimacy. These two were producing matches that were easily the most compelling at the time and If they hadn't been paired together then the scope of the female landscape in WWE could be entirely different from the high quality we see today.
Additionally, part of what makes a good rivalry is the continuity. Does it make sense for the wrestlers to hate each other? In this case it's so logical, as the two had vastly different perspectives. Banks cocky brash attitude compared to Bayley's happy positive vibes, made it seem as though their gimmicks were destined to clash.
