Seth Rollins' 2016 return from injury was something of a tease for fans desperate to embrace him as a babyface after enduring with him the pained and protracted recovery that saw him miss that year's WrestleMania.

Overwhelmingly cheered upon his return at Roman Reigns' expense, Rollins resumed his tired heel act the night afterwards, but again entered in a performance destined to earn him adoration when the two actually fought a month later.

Days away from a Wellness Policy violation that rocked the entire industry, Roman Reigns built off his sensational series with AJ Styles with another breathless brawl, reminding audiences why he did deserve his WWE Title top spot instead of their dedicated derision.

Surviving Superman Punches and Spears, Seth saved his best assault till almost last, catching 'The Big Dog' with a Pedigree mid-Spear in a white hot nearfall. A second Pedigree almost immediately afterwards did the necessary three seconds too late to gain the absolute maximum impact, but the evening concluded with a successful Dean Ambrose cash-in on the brand new Champion that neatly tied a bow on their own angle from the prior year.
