The independent wrestling scene was dealt a heavy blow when Kassius Ohno re-signed with WWE in December 2016.

As the world's most consistent four-star match machine, the former Chris Hero was a promoter's dream and a fan's delight. He was never anything less than excellent, and would always deliver a show-stealing performance regardless of who he was facing, making him one of the most sought-after performers in the world.

Thank the heavens for Keith Lee, then.

The hyper-athletic colossus has filled the indies' Hero-shaped hole with aplomb, dazzling audiences with his outrageously diverse skill-set, and carrying himself like the biggest star in the world wherever he goes. Lee's chops are brutal, his power game is incomparable, and his inhuman athleticism allows him to pull off flips and dives with the grace of a man half his size. He's a freak, basically, and his feats must be seen to believed.

As far as individual matches go, his series with recent WWE signing Donovan Dijak stands out, but Lee saved his best performance for 9 November, when he wrestled NJPW's Tomohiro Ishii for RevPro. A perfect microcosm of what makes both men so special, it's a 'must watch' by anyone's standards.
