10 Best NXT Matches Of 2016

The highly anticipated debut of Japanese wrestling superstar Shinsuke Nakamura in NXT certainly didn't disappoint. Making his TakeOver bow in a dream match against one of the best workers in the business in Sami Zayn, these two delivered a classic which lived up to the occasion and has to be one of the best debuts in a company in the history of pro-wrestling.

There was no major storyline feud going into this one. Quite simply, this was two of the best in the business being given the time and the platform to put on a phenomenal match. Nakamura was eager to impress in his NXT debut and Sami Zayn was determined to show he was still the face of NXT, in what proved to be Sami's final match in the promotion before he moved to the main roster full-time.

This one had everything fans had hoped for, with the strong style forearm battle near the end of the match unlike anything you're likely to see regularly on WWE TV. In front of a raucous crowd, these two built the match tremendously to a dramatic conclusion, with Nakamura picking up the win in his NXT debut in an absolute classic match.
