8. Ambrose Cashes In Money In The Bank

When Dean Ambrose won the WWE title at Money in the Bank 2016, it wasn’t just a great way to close out the show. Intentionally or not, it also provided the perfect closure to an angle that had been developing for the better part of four years. Or at least, that’s how some of us like to interpret it...

In the pay-per-view’s main event, Seth Rollins defeated Roman Reigns to win the WWE Championship, only for Ambrose to then cash-in his Money in the Bank briefcase and claim that title for himself. The whirlwind finish meant that within the space of a single night, all three former members of The Shield had been WWE Champion at one point or another. How's that for a piece of trivia?

It was the culmination to a story that had started back at Survivor Series 2012, when the trio debuted, went on to become one of the greatest factions in company history, before eventually splitting up and becoming breakout singles stars.

Granted there’s still time for their story to develop further but at the time, having all three guys hold the title in one night was the perfect way to coronate their rise through the ranks.
