10 Best Performers In Royal Rumble History (According To The Stats)

9. Chris Benoit - 115pts

Records: 0 = 0Pts Wins: 1 ('04) = 30pts Awards: 3 (Most Eliminations '04, Iron Man '04, '05) = 45pts Entries: 4 (=9th Place) = 1.5pts Career Eliminations: 14 (9th Place) = 2pts Personal Best Eliminations: 6 in '04 (=6th Place) = 4pts Average Eliminations: 3.5 (=3rd Place) = 7.5pts Career Time: 2:37:19 (5th Place) = 6pts Personal Best Time: 1:01:30 in '04 (2nd Place) = 9pts Average Time: 0:39:19.75 (1st Place) = 10pts Total: 115pts This is by no means an endorsement of Chris Benoit and the tragic events that lead to the loss of his wife, son and himself at his own hands; but this is a statistical analysis based off of numbers and to remove him would have corrupted the data (and is probably the reason WWE haven't published a similar manner of study themselves). Despite a low number of entries; one Win and three Awards (he did the treble in the '04 Rumble match) help Benoit to sit in 9th place as it stands...holding the best Average Time by over ten minutes and the 2nd place Personal Best Time is a bigger accomplishment when you factor in how few Rumble matches Chris took part in; but having been a top technical wrestler that you could bank on for a good long stint it shouldn't be all that surprising. History and WWE will remember Benoit differently; time will tell and in all likeliness he will slip off the list eventually. But, as it stands today, the numbers put Chris Benoit just into the Top 10.
