10 Best Performers In WWE Money In The Bank History

3. CM Punk

One man who is no stranger to success though is CM Punk. Furthermore, much of that success was made possible by his achievements in the Money in the Bank ladder match.

Punk remains the only man to have won the briefcase in successive years—at WrestleMania 24 and 25—and that stat also makes him the only man to have ever tasted victory in more than one Money in the Bank ladder match.

As well as that, he’s been responsible for some of the more original spots in the match’s history, such as his somewhat comedic airplane spin at WrestleMania 23, or the way he hung Jericho up on one of the rung on his way to victory the following year.

But it’s perhaps the way Punk has synonymised the concept that makes him most deserving of a top-three spot on this list. The former indie star is a perfect example of how the match can elevate someone from mid-card obscurity to main event super-stardom.

And just as the early part of Punk’s WWE career was defined by Money in the Bank, the latter stages were as well to a certain extent—though in a much more momentous context.
