Though Rey Mysterio's own mask is as iconic as any comic book superhero's, the greatest cruiserweight in wrestling history is clearly a fan. Over the years - and usually at WrestleMania - he's sported several masks and outfits designed to resemble some of America's best-known costumed vigilantes.

One of Mysterio's most dramatic wins came when he captured the WCW Cruiserweight Championship from Eddie Guerrero at Halloween Havoc 1997, risking his own mask in the process - a purple mask that was part of a suit homaging comic strip hero The Phantom. Mysterio continued the trend in WWE, famously appearing at WrestleMania decked out as Daredevil, The Flash, The Joker, Captain America, and one of the Na'vi from Avatar.

Mysterio's WrestleMania outfits were anxiously awaited, but the "Granddaddy of 'Em All" wasn't the only place to see him emulate comic book heroes - he sported Spider-Man and Iron Man-inspired attire on television, and he appeared at SummerSlam 2007 dressed as the Silver Surfer.
