Goldberg Vs. Lesnar - then what?

Ever since Goldberg was announced as a part of WWE's upcoming 2K17 video game, fans have been expecting to see him make his return to the company proper. With the former World Heavyweight Champion in New York for a 2K Sports event the weekend of SummerSlam, many believed that he'd be at Barclays Center to confront Brock Lesnar. It didn't happen, and hopes for "Da Man's" return started to fade.

In the past week, though, things have changed dramatically. Not only is Goldberg reportedly very close to returning to the company, but a match with Lesnar at the Survivor Series is considered almost a done deal. That bout - a rematch of one of the most maligned WrestleMania encounters of all time - may not deliver in the ring, but it certain has marquee strength.

There's just one question, though - if Goldberg is going to wrestle Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, then who will he face at WrestleMania? "Da Man" likely won't be working too many matches, but it would be a waste to book him for the fall spectacular without making him part of the draw of the show of shows.

Never fear, WhatCulture has the answer! Here are the 10 best potential WrestleMania matches for Goldberg.

10. Braun Strowman

At one point, Goldberg's detractors considered him a green rookie whose push was the only thing that had won fans over. In hindsight, that's not true; Goldberg had the charisma to draw fans into his matches and the attitude to play his role believably. If all it took to get wrestlers over were wins, then Braun Strowman would be a star.

Nevertheless, the jury is still out on the former Wyatt Family enforcer. Every few months, rumors spring up that Strowman is meant to be receiving a big push, complete with matches with the likes of Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. Maybe - just maybe - that will actually happen and perhaps there's a chance that Strowman will actually make the best of it.

If the mammoth mountain of muscle can actually start winning some respect and acclaim from the fans, then perhaps Goldberg is the ideal opponent for him. There are definite parallels between Strowman now and Goldberg at the beginning of his career, and with the right dynamic, a bout between them could be interesting.

Yeah, it's a longshot.
