WWE: 10 Best Pre-Match Promos Ever

10. Stone Cold Vs The Undertaker At Rock Bottom 1998

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a06-5x-2B2A This feud built up in late 1998, just after The Undertaker's first heel turn in over six years. It was just at the beginning of the "Ministry of Darkness" storyline, when 'Taker would be at the peak of his mysticism, some of which is evident here with the use of lightning strikes, flaming symbols and his attempt to embalm Steve Austin. Stone Cold was in the middle of his long feud with Vince McMahon and was at the height of his popularity. Disputes over the then-WWF Title had led to this match, where if Austin won he would qualify for the 1999 Royal Rumble. The feud itself was nothing spectacular, and definitely didn't eclipse either Austin's or Undertaker's main storylines at the time, but the promo video had some nice touches, particularly from when we hear Vince say "All you have to do, Austin, is defeat The Undertaker..." who's eyes roll back in his head at that very moment. From then on, we have a constant effect of quick shots of 'Taker looking on menacingly, Austin covered in blood and a mysterious grave being dug and filled in, with echoes of McMahon's voice calling out "A Buried Alive match!". It gave the impression that Austin, while not an underdog by any means, had a fearsome obstacle to overcome on his road to the title. And the whole thing is given a very dark and threatening feel with the use of Tchaikovsky's "Slavonic March" blaring in the background, which suits The Undertaker's character at the time extremely well
