10 Best Pre-WWE Daniel Bryan Matches

A look at the best of the Best Wrestler In The World, before the beard.

2014 has been one incredible year for Daniel Bryan, with peaks and valleys in his career and in his personal life. His rise to becoming the top name on the WWE roster is well-documented, including his magical night at WrestleMania 30, where he was a victory over Ric Flair away from defeating the entire Evolution stable all by himself. While wrestling fans all across the globe sit back and (im)patiently wait for his return, which is listed as either "around Royal Rumble time" or "maybe never", depending on what report the dirt sheets feel like posting today, it's time to look back at his pre-WWE days. This is back when Daniel Bryan didn't exist, but Bryan Danielson was setting the independent wrestling world on fire with incredible match after incredible match, performing all over the planet for whatever promotion would let him ply his craft. We all know about the great matches he's had as a member of the WWE roster, whether they were against the likes of CM Punk, Cesaro, John Cena, Randy Orton, or many others. However, this is looking at ten of his best matches from the "Bryan Danielson Era", so to speak. You may very well recognize some of his opponents here, while there might be others that you won't recognize, but they all have one thing in common... they stepped in the ring with the "Best Wrestler In The World" and had something special take place.
