9. Samoa Joe

While many hardcore NXT fans can’t find it in their hearts to jeer Joe, he’s not giving them many reasons to cheer him.

Management could have easily pushed Joe as the top babyface in NXT, as the crowd had waited years for him to show up in the company. He had their respect from his run in Ring of Honor as well as their sympathy, as he was vastly underutilized in TNA. It would have been easy to build the brand around him.

Instead, they fought the current, made him a heel, and he’s excelled in the role. Joe does have a few crowd pleasing moves in his repertoire, but he remains ruthless in the ring, and despite being one of the toughest people in the company, he is not above attacking someone from behind for some heat.

Hopefully someday he returns to being a face, but WWE has surely recouped their investment on the evil version of the Samoan Submission Machine.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
