In 2006, Booker T became King of the Ring and one of his first acts was to declare his wife Queen Sharmell. Together, they made for a tremendously entertaining act that dominated the SmackDown act throughout the summer and fall. As an obnoxious and slightly delusional royal couple, they ruled over the blue brand, bringing torment to the likes of Batista, Bobby Lashley and Rey Mysterio while doing so. Queen Sharmell would trumpet the arrival of her husband, loudly ordering, "all hail King Booker!" The crowd would result with a chorus of boos, all of which mattered little with the World Heavyweight Championship adorning Booker's waist. He reigned as champion for nearly six months before dropping it to the aforementioned Batista. After losing the title, the gimmick lost a great deal of its luster and by the summer of 2007, they were gone from WWE. Booker would return to the company but Sharmell's time as an on-screen performer with the company was over.
