10 Best Simultaneous WWE/WCW Heavyweight Champions

8. Triple H/Chris Benoit - 2000

On January 16th, 2000, the top two wrestling titles in North America were in possession of the top two wrestlers. Inarguable work quality put both on a similar pedestal, but the circumstances behind each man's ascensions couldn't have been further apart. And it only lasted 24 hours.

'The Game' became everything his nickname suggested at the turn of the millennium, reclaiming the strap from The Big Show to visually solidify his place atop an organisation he'd eventually have even greater autonomy over. 'The Crippler', meanwhile, was only given an overdue stint with the strap to try and take the half of him that was already gone from WCW and drag him back in.

The plan failed but - such was the low morale within the Atlanta organisation at the time - the company made a backup plan with that expectation. Benoit tapped out Sid Vicious with the Crippler Crossface, but the former 'Sycho' had his foot under the bottom rope as he conceded. This was used to retcon the reign the following night - shortly before Benoit (alongside Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn) appeared in the front row of Monday Night Raw.
