2. Team Cena Vs Team Authority (2014, ****1/2)

Less standing on the shoulders of giants and more being dragged across the floor by them, Dolph Ziggler's last great moment as a WWE nearly-man came at the climactic finale of a high stakes headliner that was regrettably retconned before 2014 even concluded.

Tiptoeing over twists and turns, Ziggler and Authority pet project Seth Rollins were the final two men left after over half an hour of gripping action between the babyface bastions of good and Triple H's mercenaries. A Big Show knockout punch midway through the clash seemed to tip the scales irreversibly in 'The Game's favour. Smashing partner John Cena in the face, Show tore down his team's advantage by triggering a pinfall on Cena and walking away from the match himself.

More guts and glory than Lex Luger had a hope of being 20 years earlier, Ziggler fought on through Kane and Luke Harper before looking doomed to defeat following copious amounts of interference from Triple H in the closing straight. 'The Show Off' didn't count on help from an 'Icon'.

Making a debut many thought would simply never come, Sting emerged to the shock of the audience and malevolent Hunter alike. Frozen in disbelief, he was dropped with a Scorpion Death Lock by 'The Stinger'. In his last act, the WCW legend pulled Dolph atop a fallen Rollins for a win that felt utterly enormous...for about a fortnight.
