10 Best Tag Teams WWE Has Created Over The Past Decade

1. The Shield

When The Shield first debut, they seemed like three disparate workers stuck together without rhyme or reason. Seth Rollins was the independent superstar who had been in development for way too long. Dean Ambrose was also big on the indies, but for wrestling brutal, bloody matches. Roman Reigns was simply a big guy WWE handpicked for the spot.

Yet, within a matter of months, The Shield proved that they were a true unit. Wrestling a host of six-man tag team matches and steamrolling all competition regardless of status or tenure, The Shield showed better teamwork than any trio or tandem before them. They would routinely sacrifice themselves to help each other out, and that connection and chemistry made them flow like a river in the ring.

Though some may consider Ambrose the group's odd man out given that Rollins and Reigns won the WWE Tag Team Titles together (and held them for five months), he was equally instrumental to the unity of the trio. And whether Reigns and Rollins were defending the belts, or whether U.S. Champion Ambrose was joining them for a six-man bout, the result was a frantic, high-energy, encounter that only seemed like chaos to the untrained eye. After all, The Shield did their best work when things got frenzied, all the while sticking to their "All for one and one for all" motto.
