10 Best Tag Teams WWE Has Created Over The Past Decade

2. The New Day

There's not much praise that can be levied at The New Day that hasn't already been written many times, but suffice to say that they're the top babyfaces in all of WWE. Men like Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and even John Cena may have trouble getting the desired reactions from the crowd, but Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods always hold the WWE Universe in the palms of their hands.

When the team was first established, though, they were hated - and the blame for that falls squarely on the shoulders of WWE's decision-makers. The men were simply stuck together in an alliance with no explanation or backstory, and the result was a racially offensive depiction built on stereotypes that didn't get over. It was only when the trio were allowed to breath some life into the gimmick by turning heel and trying to entertain that the fans caught on, and the rest is history.

Today, The New Day are two-time WWE Tag Team Champions, and they're closing in on the record for longest tag title reign in WWE history - in other words, an unmitigated success. They're the best tag team WWE's had since at least the TLC days - so why aren't they number 1?

Their ranking is simply because this list is for teams WWE created. While WWE did put Big E, Kingston, and Woods together, it was the work of the individual men - not the company - that made them stars. WWE doesn't deserve credit like they do for the other tandems on this list.
