10 Best Tag Teams WWE Has Created Over The Past Decade
3. Miz And Morrison
Some of the best tag teams come when singles stars without much going on are paired together. Such was the case when John Morrison - who had previously been a part of the successful tandem MNM, but had struggled since losing the ECW Championship - and The Miz - who was still looked at as a reality star who needed to prove himself - were paired together.
The stars fell into the "unlikely champions" pile, when, despite their issues, they defeated MVP and Matt Hardy (another pair of feuding champs) for the WWE Tag Team Titles. They managed to patch things up quickly, though, and soon became company workhorses, defending the titles on both the Smackdown brand (where Miz was a roster member) and the ECW brand (Morrison's home turf). They also started hosting a WWE.com show, The Dirt Sheet, which raised their profile for online fans.
The pair held the titles for eight months, but they weren't through. Due to ECW's talent exchange with the Raw brand, the pair was eligible to compete for the World Tag Team Titles, and in a shocker, they won the belts at an Ontario house show in December of 2008. They would go on to hold those titles through to WrestleMania, making them one of the most successful championship tandems of the late 2000s.
