2. Randy Orton

Despite spending 16 years on the main roster of WWE, having numerous unforgettable feuds, and winning multiple world championships, Randy Orton is doing his career-best work in 2018.

Many fans, myself included, felt that after his win against Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 33, Orton had done nothing of note since. However, his return at Extreme Rules changed all that.

He seems to be relishing this new sadistic heel role, the highlight of which has to be his match at Hell in a Cell against Jeff Hardy, where he utilised a screwdriver in a way never before seen in WWE.

This turn has breathed new life into a character many had given up on. Orton is arguably one of the main reasons why fans tune in to SmackDown LIVE each week - who will be his next victim?

Orton's promo on SmackDown 1000, flanked by his fellow Evolution members, solidified why his resurgence is such a joy to watch. Instead of resting on his laurels to reminisce with HHH et al. He proceeded to bury them and reassert his position as one of the top superstars today, who is "cementing his legacy" with every performance.

The briefest tease of an RKO as Evolution were hugging in the ring piqued fans interest even more, and despite the many emerging talents in WWE, the man who has been around since 2002, is the best thing in WWE right now.
