But, even as he builds towards an eventual UFC debut, the former WWE Champion was moved to break his silence by Daniel Bryan's retirement. The pair clashed a few times in WWE, but enjoyed their most gruelling battles on the independent scene. Fittingly, Punk honoured his comrade by sharing a gif of the pair respecting Ring of Honor's handshake code - a sign of respect not only for Bryan himself, but for the independent wrestling scene as a whole.
