Austin Aries has won the TNA X Division Championship on six different occasions, holding the belt for a cumulative 362 days. This puts him second on the all-time list for days as champion, as well as being joint-second for total of number of reigns (six with Sabin and AJ Styles). Five of his reigns only amount to 61 days however, and it his first record-breaking reign that leads to the Greatest Man That Ever Lived featuring here at number four.

On 11 September 2011, Austin Aries defeated Brian Kendrick at No Surrender to win the title for the very first time. He would go on to hold the belt for an impressive 301 days, far and away the longest individual reign in the history of the belt. To put that into perspective, no other reign lasted more than 199 days.

Aries didn't even lose the belt. Instead, he cashed it in when TNA introduced 'Option C' in 2012, and he went on to defeat Bobby Roode for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Destination X. Aries had a second chance with Option C in 2014, but came up short that year against Lashley.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
