10 Best TV Wrestling Matches Ever

8. FTR & The Young Bucks Vs. The Lucha Bros., The Butcher & The Blade - AEW Fyter Fest Night 2

PAC Kenny Omega
AEW

In another company, Dax Hardwood's gripe with the Young Bucks - that they don't respect the rules, that they are too concerned with getting their sh*t in, that they won't grab a damn hold - would be expressed through long, expositional promos.

In AEW, in a rivalry waged between human beings with conflicted feelings - grudging professional respect, personal distaste - it was expressed, phenomenally, through an absolutely insane and spectacular high spot. Fénix and Nick Jackson, as part of their fantastic, ongoing rivalry, dared one another to ascend to the top rope in another deadly dance of their new school war. Jackson won out, flooring Fénix with an outrageous hurricanrana.

The best part of the spot wasn't even the spot: on the apron, Wheeler, unconcerned with this battle between the modern indie style and futuristic lucha, cooled off his fury by taking a brief walk with his hands in the air. What about the old school? he communicated, in just a fraction over a second, where most need the full opening seg.

In another company, there is one in-house style. In AEW, this phenomenal, mind-blowing, layered match was a war pitting three styles against one another.

A "spot-fest" with more narrative substance to it than one million methodical matches, this banger, this total f*cking banger, with that f*cking Canadian Destroyer spot, advanced the FTR and Young Bucks feud perfectly. Certainly, there's a sense of respect - as shown through those incredible tandem spots - but who took the fall?

A better fusion of style (in virtually every sense) and substance you'll not find.
