Hardly a news flash to anybody who regularly watches WWE programming, Mick Foley is retired from active competition. At 51 years of age, the Raw General Manager could never realistically go up against someone like Braun Strowman. That's precisely where The Rock comes in, he'd be the one to take up that fight for his former tag partner.
During the 'Attitude Era', Foley (as Mankind) and The Rock worked together as The Rock N' Sock Connection. That provides the context for Dwayne Johnson to re-enter WWE and confront Strowman. All it would take is for Braun to finally snap and put his hands on Mick.
Years ago, the tension between Strowman and Foley would have led to a match on pay-per-view. That's inconceivable now, Foley isn't in ring shape. The Rock is, and he could stand up for the frail GM against the monstrous Braun.
Admittedly, fans may expect a bigger role for Rock come WrestleMania. If WWE want to further Strowman's development though, a marquee showdown with The Rock might be just the ticket.
