10 Best Worked Shoots In WWE History
1. CM Punk Drops A Pipebomb
With his WWE contract up for expiration, CM Punk was in uncharted territory going into Money in the Bank 2011. Booked to compete for the WWE Championship against John Cena in the PPV's main event, the self-proclaimed 'Best in the World' had no intention of re-signing with the company and was one unhappy employee at the time.
Which made it all the more interesting when WWE gave him a live mic and told him to speak his mind at the close of the 27 June episode of Raw. In one of the most memorable moments in the show's history, Punk dipped into his arsenal for some heavy artillery and came out with a pipe bomb that would blow the WWE landscape apart.
Sliding seamlessly from kayfabe promotion of his upcoming match, Punk drifted straight into full on worked shoot mode, which made for seriously explosive viewing. 'The Straight Edge Saviour' took no prisoners in this one and proceeded to take aim at everyone of political importance in WWE.
From Cena and Hogan to Triple H and Stephanie to John Laurinaitis and Vince McMahon, no-one was spared. The battlefield was bereft with wounded egos in the wake of the detonation and the promo made Punk a WWE megastar overnight.
