10 Best Wrestlers Under 30 (Who Don't Work For WWE)

9. Jay Lethal

Macho Man Jay Lethal Age: 29 People continue to have no idea why WWE didn't sign Jay Lethal, instead choosing to sign Consequences Creed (now known as Xavier Woods). Woods isn't a bad worker by any stretch of the imagination, but Lethal, being older and more traveled, is much better, and Lethal has a natural level of charisma and ability on the mic that Woods simply does not have. Sure, Lethal doesn't have a Masters Degree in Psychology, and he isn't working on his PhD to become a doctor like Woods is, but since when does that have anything to do with who gets signed to WWE and who doesn't? When given the opportunity to do so, Lethal is able to show off so much natural abilities to connect with crowds, whether he's playing a face or a heel. He has also proven that he can handle a serious character, as well as a silly character, with his impressions of Randy Savage and Ric Flair delivering some fantastic moments. Most people point to his TNA promo as "Ric Flair", where he interrupted the actual Ric Flair and had a war of words with him. Fans lost control of themselves as Lethal slowly seemed to drive Flair insane with his impersonation, as it really seemed like Flair was having a promo battle with himself. That's not to take anything away from his in-ring work, though, as he mixes a nice blend of mat work and high-flying, and has been successful against both smaller and larger opponents, showing a nice versatility. There really isn't a lot that he can't do.
