10 Best Wrestlers Of 2022 (So Far)

2. Dax Harwood

To reduce either FTR member to a "tag team wrestler" would do them a great disservice. Duos work might be what they're best known for, though Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood have both proven themselves amongst the best of the best no matter the scenario, with each showcasing their versatility in a 2022 that has seen both shine in multi-man, singles, and tag team matches, operating on both sides of the alignment scale through a diverse array of in-ring styles, stories, and dynamics.

April saw FTR work two of the year's greatest matches against The Young Bucks and The Briscoes within just five days. They also have the razor-sharp Jon Moxley/CM Punk bout and Forbidden Door three-way to hang their hat on as a tandem. This output, plus their strong positioning atop (or near the top of) four different companies' divisions (and the fact that they are currently more over than at any other point in their run together), would be enough for them to enter the conversation alone.

Dax's singles resume takes him to the next level. As in the tag real, logical, well-crafted, psychology-rich yarns are Harwood's speciality, and it's no coincidence that he has given such luminaries as Will Ospreay, Adam Cole, and CM Punk some of their best bouts of the year. In 2022 more than any other year, Harwood has proven himself a classically-styled professional wrestler mindful of modern palates, who keeps an eye on the past without ever rooting himself there.

This has been the case for a while, of course. FTR have been great since breaking out in NXT in 2016. Nonetheless, 2022 has been an ascendant year for the runaway Tag Team of the Year leaders - and Dax in particular.
