10 Best Wrestlers Of 2023 (So Far)

8. Jon Moxley

Sami Zayn
AEW

Jon Moxley remains the god of all of this despite having a far smoother run of things in 2023 than the wild west year he found himself trudging through in the wake of All Out 2022.

The former three-time AEW World Heavyweight Champion hasn't been near the company's top strap since losing it to MJF, but has taken his character on quite the ride as part of the Blackpool Combat Club's violent heel turn.

Approaching every match like a fight he wants to finish as quickly as he can, he has reimagined what it is to be one of the best in the world, including cutting down and run-times as much as he cuts his forehead. Losing clean to Hangman Page at Revolution brought out the worst in him, turning the company's safest pair of hands into the most violent. Leading the charge against The Elite alongside Brian Danielson has allowed him to flex his villainous chops for the first time since AEW's launch, and he himself has stressed how he's only now realising the type of pro wrestler he wants to be.

Based on his 2019-2022 form, only Mox knows how high he can fly.
