Though the feud between Triple H and The Rock arguably put both men on the map, it was actually a terrible program. Each week, their rivalry - and the rivalries between their stables - managed to be horribly offensive, whether it was with legitimate racism or depictions of sexual assault.

Their blowoff match at SummerSlam couldn't have come soon enough. It was a ladder match - only the third in WWE PPV history - with the Intercontinental Championship suspended above the ring.

The two men brawled early, incorporating the single ladder into their offense once the fighting spilled to the outside. The ladder was eventually brought into the ring, and Triple H knocked it into The Rock's face with a baseball slide, bloodying "The Great One's" nose. Still, Rock fought valiantly, turning many of the fans in Madison Square Garden over to his side.

By the time the men tried to retrieve the belt, they had already done quite a bit of damage to one another. Interference by Mark Henry led to Triple H getting flour thrown in his eyes, but Chyna evened the score when she knocked Rock off the ladder with a low blow. HHH was then able to grab the title and win the match.
