10 Best Wrestling Match Concepts Since 2000

8. Firefly Fun House Match

Bray Wyatt John Cena

The Final Deletion was the catalyst for Bray Wyatt to have his own match/concept in wrestling in the Firefly Fun House. Bray took it a step further than Matt though, amazingly showcasing and debuting his brainchild at “The Grandest Stage of Them All" WrestleMania 36 against John Cena.

What makes this match uniquely special is that it involves little wrestling as compared to The Final Deletion; this was more psychological warfare from Bray and his Fiend persona than anything else. Bray mentally made John pay for going over him in their first feud years before, wanting to ‘right the wrong’. Cena roamed through his career and his flaws/failures throughout (like his Ruthless Aggression debut in 2002). It was like a work of twisted art. There were easter eggs to be found all over; it was a match you could only really appreciate if you had context regarding backstage politics and both their careers. It was if WWE was finally rewarding you for paying attention to miniscule detail that they often gets criticized for forgetting/ignoring.

Cena said recently of the match when asked:

“It left a lot of questions... It wasn’t just single-serving, it is something you can go back and watch and enjoy. Those are some of the best efforts.”
