By 2009 Edge was a bonafide main event star, one interested in winning World Championships and nothing else. The Canadian was pretty darn successful at that too, and this Last Man Standing match against the then-World Heavyweight Champion saw him pick up his third world title in the year to date. Those potatoes were pretty hot back then.

As with most LMS matches the selling throughout is a little weird, but then sometimes it is wiser to forget logic and sit back and watch the match itself. Both men work extremely hard throughout, and a solid argument could be made for Edge being Cena's greatest ever opponent.

Of course, it would be one of Cena's less heralded opponents that would get involved leading to the finish. Big Show comes out just as Cena is about to FU Edge into oblivion, and proceeds to chokeslam him into one of the spotlights on the stage. The whole thing explodes, and needless to say Cena isn't getting up.

Edge wins back his world title as Cena lies covered in glass. It was a memorable finish to a memorable match.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
