10 Best Wrestling Matches Of The Week (Aug 7)

8. Seth Rollins Vs. Sami Zayn - WWE RAW - 01/08

WWE's main roster didn't have a great week in-ring this week. RAW couldn't continue the excellence of the first post-draft episode, and as a result just the one match from the show manages to make it onto the list this week. Of course, that match is Seth Rollins vs. Sami Zayn.

The saddest part of the match is that the result was never truly in doubt. Sami Zayn is that sort of floating babyface who will always lose to those above him, and Seth Rollins is quite clearly the top of the heel tree.

I won't complain about Rollins vs. Zayn however, as the match was as good a WWE TV main event as we're likely to get. Zayn got enough of his big spots in, hitting a Michinoku Driver and a Blue Thunder Bomb (he really needs to win a match or two with that) but he was unable to keep Seth down.

Rollins picked up the win following the Pedigree.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
