The beauty of NXT specials is that there's often something for everybody; think about that for a second, then realise how incredible that is considering the way WWE's third brand is positioned. It's promoted as a more in-ring centric product than Raw or SmackDown, but the roster is talented enough that it caters to fans all of types.

Case in point: Pat McAfee vs. Adam Cole.

McAfee looked like a million bucks during his first TakeOver showing, and he rightly received plaudits for hanging in there against one of the best workers on the planet. The ex-NFL punter was visibly loving every single second of the 16-minute scorcher.

Elsewhere, Finn Bálor vs. Timothy Thatcher was a unique opener, and the headline duo of Karrion Kross and Keith Lee chucked one another around like big lads should. Io Shirai vs. Dakota Kai was also enjoyable enough, and the four-way ladder mayhem for NXT's vacant North American Title scratched a stunt show itch.
