It says everything for the gimmick that Hell In A Cell can still wow 23 years and 42 matches after debuting in 1997. In October, WWE presented another three to bring the tally up to 45, but they might just be three of the best in recent memory.

Each one had something different to say.

Make no mistake about it, HIAC was about caged heat and nothing else. However, WWE smartly sprinkled in some lesser 'let me ups' between each Cell encounter, and that gave the pay-per-view better flow live. Someone needs a pat on the back for ensuring that each titular scrap had room to breathe.

Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso was another one-sided beatdown that was somehow still a joy to behold, and Bayley vs. Sasha Banks provided the ultimate revenge for one ex-friend on another. Finally, in the main event, Randy Orton stunned Drew McIntyre to win the WWE Title in a hard-hitting epic.

This was top tier WWE drama.
