10 Best Wrestling Tag Teams Of 2023
2. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn would've sat comfortably in the number one spot here had WWE let them do more for the tag division whilst champs. In total, KO and Sami held the Undisputed belts for 154 days between April-September 2023, but they didn't actually defend them nearly enough.
'Mania 39's triumph was an obvious highlight (and a historic moment for tag wrestling in WWE), and the thumping 'Steel City Street Fight' vs. Judgment Day duo Damian Priest and Finn Bálor rocked Payback. Beyond that, the pair kept beef going with The Bloodline for a while, diverted off into matches against younger teams like Pretty Deadly and Imperium, then dropped the gold.
What could've been, eh?
That's not to say Owens and Zayn as champs outright sucked, or anything. They held the titles with distinction, gave fans the highest of highs in April, and worked as a slick unit against all comers. Titles or not, let's hope their union sustains into 2024 before an inevitable turn then feud.
