10 Best Wrestling Talkers Of 2019 (So Far)

1. MJF

MJF is the best because he is the worst.

He's a nasty jerk piece of sh*t, but even that does his schtick and its effectiveness a disservice. He is the biggest a*sehole on the planet. Rich, deluded, and wilfully awful, he is Dennis Reynolds from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia without the performative, I'm-not-a-sociopath-come-on pretence. It's warranted, too. MJF is good-looking and he boasts a great speaking voice, eloquent and smooth. He is the quintessential future of professional wrestling.

At AEW Double Or Nothing - a show that presented the most emotional match in years and a lung-bursting tag team classic - MJF stole it. He could barely get his words out for grinning, he was that high on himself. He was so funny that he popped Bret Hart, a man who hasn't smiled once on WWE television since 2010.

He made Bret smile after teasing that he was in imminent danger of his second, dangerous attack, before taking aim at Hangman Page. He very creatively wove his promo around Page's comedy "horse" schtick and the enforced injury angle by determining, with the blackest, most hilarious comedy, that Page should be "taken around back and have his stupid little brains blown out".

It's too funny, but it doesn't matter, because it's so d*mn good that the audience wants to play along.
