10 Best Wrestling Threats Of All Time

9. John Cena's Bodily Functions

Brock Lesnar's 2012 comeback benefited hugely from Paul Heyman's own return later in the year, but away from the pressure of a live crowd, there were few performers as believably terrifying as 'The Beast'.

A wonderful pre-recorded piece aired shortly before his Extreme Rules blinder with John Cena that fleshed out their blistering pull-apart and Lesnar's electric post-WrestleMania return. It was here where he explained the motivations for his character that remain as relevant today as they were then. He's all business, and his business is battering f*ck out of people.

There was a post-PG air about the whole thing. It framed Lesnar as something of a revolutionary force, sent back to Sports Entertainment from a UFC honeymoon to put a dent in a stale product many fans had vocally grown tired of. This was smart writing from WWE, but why only steer towards intellect when Vince McMahon's base instincts still also work well?

Brock's sneer as he pondered the "p*ss" and "sh*t" running down 'The Champ's leg is a sight to behold. Here, in one promo, is a man showing disdain not only for the fight John Cena can bring his way, but the fear he may secretly have locked away. The threats helped the eventual match - the pay-per-view fight felt as real as Lesnar's sardonic suggestions.
