Some of the best bouts in 205 Live's short history have been No. 1 contender's matches, so don't expect this to be the last multi-man match you see on this list.

Neville ran rampant over a majority of the Cruiserweight division for the first nine months of 2017 and was in desperate need of a new opponent. Thus, the Sept. 5 edition of 205 Live hosted an elimination-style Fatal 5-Way between Enzo Amore, Gran Metalik, Tony Nese, The Brian Kendrick and Cedric Alexander to determine who would be next in line to challenge him.

While everyone involved had solid showings, it was Alexander in particular who stood out above the rest. He was relentless in his pursuit of the prize by taking the fight to the other four competitors and actually eliminating three of them. The crowd was behind him every step of the way ... that was, however, until Amore stole the victory right from underneath him.

Mind you, this was right before Amore officially went heel at No Mercy when he won the Cruiserweight Championship from Neville, so the writing was on the wall even then that Amore and Alexander were destined to do battle.
