On June 27, 2011, CM Punk sat on the Monday Night RAW stage and delivered his iconic Pipebomb promo, the repercussions of which are still being felt to this day.

Punk created an appetite for change, and while he was an idealist with an undying belief in himself, perhaps even he wasn't aware of how much fans wanted it. The ALL OUT sell-out, in parallel with the treacle-slow Stomping Grounds sales, have fulfilled that vision indirectly. Perhaps he was inspired to cut that promo after watching the previous week's RAW, on which dinosaurs Kane and Mark Henry fought in a sh*tty arm-wrestling match.

There was nothing to this whatsoever: no drama, no tension, no accidentally funny gurning. Kane simply started to win, which upset Henry, who probably should have turned face a few minutes prior to guarantee victory. Or, he could have startled Kane by screaming May 19 in his face, and capitalised on the subsequent temporary fugue to slam his arm down.

Kane was only ever affected by this harrowing childhood trauma in 2006 - in 2007, he opened up that day's newspaper with a smile, to learn that healthcare still caused misery to millions of poor Americans - and so it probably wouldn't have worked.
