5. Maria Kanellis

The lovely Maria isn't really known for being a great in-ring performer, but she is a hard working woman that loved the business and did a lot of cool stuff during her WWE run.

It's not always about being a wrestler. Maria signed with WWE shortly after the 2004 Diva Search, went to OVW and was called up to the main roster where she did a number of different things. They used her as a ditzy announcer who had moments where she appeared smart as well. Her act with Santino Marella was a lot of fun because he was a bad boyfriend, but she was too stupid to realize it until she finally kicked him to the curb. It was an easy way to make her a babyface.

While she did wrestle, she wasn't a Women's Champion in WWE although she did win a Diva of the Year Slammy in 2009. She ended up getting fired soon after that.

She was rumored to return to WWE in 2013, but apparently there was a problem with the Bella Twins dating back years earlier, so she never came back after all.

These days, Maria is working for Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling along with husband Mike Bennett. She also works indy shows while making time to get her university degree as well.
