3. Jeff Jarrett Vs Shawn Michaels (In Your House 2)

The announcement of Jeff Jarrett's impending induction into the WWE Hall Of Fame was met with the expected levels of shock greeting somebody that once seemed so permanently lodged on Vince McMahon's list of enemies. Coverage of it subsequently ignored the matches that highlighted the outstanding performer he was occasionally capable of being, with few examples shining as brightly as his In Your House 2 loss to Shawn Michaels.

Though a spiralling ego and caustic personality left him loathed by much of WWE's locker room in 1995, Michaels' flawless abilities kept him white hot with audiences following a post-WrestleMania babyface turn. Between the ropes, he'd never been closer to his idol Ric Flair's skill level, and his third and final reign with the 'workers' title enhanced the aesthetic underneath his buddy Diesel's less-than-stellar steering of the WWE ship.

The match is a stunning clash of Jeff's Memphis magic and Shawn's dynamic flare. Vicious rather than cowardly against man he finally felt physically superior to, Jeff's extended beating on the challenger after a particularly psychotic to the floor from Michaels was a heat-gobbling masterclass. Fans were apoplectic with 'Double J' and frenzied for 'HBK's comeback. A bodged trip from The Roadie brought about the unexpected end double act, but it was an incredible way to go.
