Tasked with topping their legendary original while also contributing to a pay-per-view with developing Greatest-Of-All-Time vibes as it went along, the combatants in TLC2 deserve credit not just for assembling something as special as they did but for doing so under the sort of pressure that would have ground others into dirt.

One of the greatest and most grandiose spotfests in WWE history, the six men artfully escalate the danger with such lightness of touch that almost nothing feels constructed despite the props and people needed to assemble the every terrifying scene.

Every match has a standout moment, and this one's remembered most for Edge spearing Jeff Hardy out of the sky as he hung on to the title belts for dear life. Time stands still as the bodies collide, and the impact creates pause for thought on all they're doing in a way that's the bigger than the battle itself. Three teams at the peak of their powers, stealing the show from underneath the stars that have drawn a full stadium for the first time in nearly a decade and doing so with admirable but insane lack of consideration for their own wellbeing.

Neatly folding in Spike Dudley, Rhyno and Lita, the use of each teams' seconds was one more victory lap in a series of them - the duos having wars just as powerful as this had been so successful that they'd helped get several other stars over in the process.
