It’s easy to feel jaded by gimmick matches. WWE use them so often that they’ve lost their unique feel, and their in-ring restrictions means WWE are rarely able to deliver the kind of violence and that they promise. Fortunately, this year’s men’s Money In The Bank lineup was too skilled to fail, and they produced a great ladder match.

Everybody got their time to shine, and everybody looked strong. Baron Corbin drew immense heat for attacking Shinsuke Nakamura during his entrance, and ‘The King Of Strong Style’ returned to a thunderous ovation, with the crowd singing his entrance theme as he ran through the competition.

Sami Zayn proved he could get brutal, first hitting Dolph Ziggler with a Sunset Flip Powerbomb, then nailing Kevin Owens with an apron Tiger Suplex. Later, Styles and Nakamura had a 10/10 face-off that left fans buzzing at the prospect of a big pay-per-view match between the two.

The stunts were as impressive as ever, with Kevin Owens taking a number of nasty bumps. Along with the aforementioned apron spot, KO took an AA on a ladder, but kept on fighting. Corbin walked out a predictable winner in the end, but the match’s 30 minutes were crammed with action, and closed a disjointed PPV on a high.
